CENTAURI a New Horizon For Flute and Piano

¥1,500 (with Tax)

Explanation

The original piano solo has been arranged for a flute and piano duo. The title comes from the constellation Centaurus, specifically from Proxima Centauri, the star system closest to our solar system. Apparently, there are planets orbiting Proxima Centauri that may have environments like Earth, and in the future, they could even become potential destinations for human settlement. Inspired by such a vision of the future, I composed this piece freely. The form resembles a variation of the sonata form, but it is almost entirely free form. Multiple themes converge to create new music, producing a subtle and exquisite “chemical” interaction of sound. Even in the original composition, the melody line was designed with the flute in mind, so the main theme is set within a comfortable and stable range for the instrument. Some virtuosic passages are scattered throughout, making this piece suitable for advanced performers. The piano part is by no means a simple accompaniment; it functions as a fully engaging ensemble, providing a satisfying performance experience.
