Explanation

「オクターブが届かない奏者のための雰囲気の良い曲はないだろうか？」との思いから自作した小曲集「季節と情景のスケッチ」からの一曲です。

ゆったりとした三拍子にのって、どことなくノスタルジックなハーモニーを多用しています。

ペトラとは、ヨルダンの砂漠地域にほどちかい古代都市「ペトラ遺跡」から。ペドゥイン族が住むこの不思議な渓谷の遺跡は、かつて行商都市として大きく栄えていましたが、時代とともに衰退して近年まで忘れ去られていました。そんな栄枯盛衰のむなしさを、なるべくシンプルな音数で表現しています。
